Snowmass Detailed Description

This is the perfect time to visit Snowmass! Over the past couple years development has started on a new base village and mountain amenities to build a perfect ski resort for skiers and snowboarders alike.

Snowmass is undergoing a renaissance of sorts. A plethora of improvements greeted skiers and riders in the 2006-2007 season. The eight-person Elk Camp Gondola makes quick work of the distance from the new base village to the Elk Camp lift in a mere 8.5 minutes. Combined with last season’s new Village Express six-pack and Sky Cab gondola, the lift network at Snowmass will get you up the mountain almost as fast as you can ski back down!

Development is scheduled to be completed for this season on The Treehouse - a 25,000-square-foot children’s center connected to the upper village by a two-minute gondola ride via the Sky Cab gondola. The Treehouse stands as the first of its kind in the snowsports industry, boasting a family-friendly climbing gym, teen activities, kids’ retail and a host of themed rooms for ages eight weeks and older. The Treehouse is easily accessible from anywhere in Snowmass with short-term and underground parking, free shuttle buses, ski-in/ski-out access on Fanny Hill and service to the upper slopes, lodges and Snowmass Village Mall via the Sky Cab gondola. In addition, Ski & Snowboard Schools check-in, rental, retail and family après entertainment will be consolidated all under one roof.

In Snowmass, 95% of lodging is ski-in/ski out. Ease and convenience are the buzz words here, whether you walk to one of Snowmass’ 20+ restaurants for dinner or avoid having to lug your gear to get to the slopes. Guests staying at Snowmass can leave their cars at home or in the parking lot, because even a trip to the grocery store has been made simple on the free property or town shuttle buses.

The easiest way to get to Snowmass is through the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport a mere 6 miles from Snowmass Village. Flights are available through Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, or U.S. Airways Express.
