Kicking Horse Detailed Description

There’s a great deal of Canadian history behind Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. It is named after the renowned river and the famous high-alpine pass that were instrumental in opening the Canadian West to the rest of the world. The Kicking Horse name reflects a sense of adventure, discovery and exploration.

Live on the wild side and take on challenging terrain that will make your heart stop. Kicking Horse offers skiing that ranges from beginner to challenging, even for experts.

Take a gondola to the top where at 7,700 feet above sea level, most people are flying Economy. At the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant, however, you’re soaring in a higher class altogether. Drink in epic panoramic views as award winning chefs - influenced by classic French technique and inspired by a Rocky Mountain setting - create savory masterpieces. Salmon, Buffalo, Venison and other native cuisine are among the highlights of a menu that celebrates our distinctive character. The Eagle’s Eye is the perfect place to host your office party, family reunion, wedding reception or any other celebratory event.

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is surrounded by towering peaks and six of Canada’s most picturesque National Parks. The resort is located in Golden, British Columbia, just 1.5 hours west of Banff (145 kilometers) and 2.5 hours west of Calgary (270 Kilometers) on the Trans-Canada highway.
