Big Sky Detailed Description
Imagine a resort with continuous blue skies, three mountains - each with plenty of room to spread out and nearly non-existent lift lines. This perfect resort would have diverse skiing and snowboarding conditions with awe inspiring mountain scenery. Well, it’s time to stop imagining and start experiencing Big Sky Resort!
Skiers will be amazed as they traverse over 2000 vertical feet of powder filled bowls and scenic Montana vistas. The vast size of the mountain allows almost 2 acres of terrain per skier, so you’ll really feel like you have the whole mountain to yourself. Snowboarders of all levels flock to Big Sky Resort to spend their days in one of the four terrain parks. With use of a Zaugg Monster Pipe Cutter, Big Sky Resort is home to the only superpipe in the area.
Once the slopes have closed for the night make your way to The Tubing Park, a must-try experience for guests of all ages. This family friendly activity was added to the mountain in the 2006/07 winter season and has become an instant hit.
Big Sky Resort operates year round. In the summer months the lifts are retrofitted to carry bikers, hikers and sightseers to the summit. Choose to mountain bike and take the high altitude ride down, or get a nice workout simply hiking back to the village. Another unique experience is to play a round of golf on the 18 hole Arnold Palmer course, located 6500 feet above sea level. No matter where your interests lie, Big Sky Resort is sure to provide an unforgettable vacation experience.
Moonlight Basin is located in the Madison Ridge of the Rocky Mountains and is near Big Sky Resort. Featuring terrain consisting of moguls, long groomers, open bowls, beginner runs, and a freestyle terrain park. With 76+ runs, 6 chairlifts and 1,900 acres of skiable terrain, Moonlight Basin features its own, unique vibe. |
