Aspen Detailed Description
In the past Aspen has been known as a playground for the rich and famous. Today it has evolved into a year round favourite of outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. With over $50 million worth of on mountain improvements scheduled for completion in 2010, the Aspen ski experience has never been better. Guests are enjoying quicker lift lines and much better access to popular terrain.
With a large selection of terrain labelled for advanced skiers only, Aspen is sure to push you to your limits. The mountain includes a large amount of intermediate terrain around the summit and into the gullies. Experts can enjoy the black diamond runs which drop in from the ridges into those gullies. Expert runs in Aspen are just that, reserved for experts only and skiers should work their way up to these runs to avoid terrain beyond their skill level. If bumps and trees decorate your runs of choice, make your way over to Bell Mountain, right under the gondola.
This mountain is not for novice or beginner skiers; however those possessing intermediate to advanced skills have an opportunity to ski the best powder around. With three high speed quads all reaching the summit you will spend more time on the slopes and less time standing in line.
The easiest way to get to Aspen is through the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport a mere 3 miles from Aspen Village. Flights are available through Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, or U.S. Airways Express.
